Microsoft is making it increasingly difficult and expensive for users of its Dynamics NAV on-premise solution to use this ERP system for much longer.
Mainstream support for the latest version Dynamics NAV 2018 ended on January 11, 2023. Extended support will end on January 11, 2028.
Yet there are still many thousands of organizations using Dynamics NAV.
If you are a Microsoft D365 partner with Dynamics NAV customers, you will face the following challenges and questions for providing active support:
- Your available NAV knowledge decreases
- Because many of your NAV professionals are already active on BC
- Some consultants and developers are retired or are retiring
- Or have already left your organization
- And you are understandably not going to train your new hires in NAV
This situation therefore raises the following strategic question:
Are you, as an organisation, still able to fully meet your contractual maintenance and support obligations from 1 January 2027?
In 2024, German BC partner B.i.Team already anticipated on this strategic question. They invited me to inspire their remaining NAV customers to migrate to D365 Business Central with a fresh and external perspective.
In a 1-day Transformation Masterclass, we discussed the situation that had arisen, the expected moves from Microsoft, the urgent need to modernise and the factors that are crucial to make the BC migration a success.
Within 9 months after this Masterclass, more than 50 percent of the participants had decided on a BC migration!
Read here how we did that and what the results were.
Are you interested in assessing how this approach can work out for you and your NAV customers?
Then let's talk.
