It was nice to speak on the 'virtual stage' this morning with Frank Maier at our great DIRECTIONS 4 PARTNERS event.
In this session, I've talked about two important topics:
1) Microsoft Dynamics 365 partners should avoid "old wine in new bottles" when migrating their on-premise Dynamics NAV, GP or SL customers to the cloud with Dynamics 365 Business Central. It's way more effective to start helping the management of your customers modernising their business processes and the mindsets of their teams!
2) For most partners, their customer base is the biggest asset they own. After all - you've worked so hard and so long to build that base, right? So partners must make sure that the migration is a key priority! Make a (one!) board member responsible for success and failure, improve your methodologies, invest in tools, specialize yourself or find a specialized partner that can help you do (the technical parts of) these migrations.
Partners must inspire their customer's management to not just modernise technology, but also to upgrade and modernize their organisation and their thinking!
