The outcome of a successful project excellence workshop at COSMO Austria: “The need to increase our courage”

Last week I was in wonderful Vienna, invited by the Austrian business of the successful Microsoft Dynamics 365 partner COSMO CONSULT. The goal of this visit was twofold: delivering a project excellence workshop and inspiring the team.

On day one I delivered a workshop to a group of 10 project managers. In today’s fast changing world it is crucial for them to align attitude, methodologies and thinking with the new buying behavior and customer expectation levels.

We had highly relevant discussions on topics like building trust, how to engage C-level, improving project communication and many other initiatives that can help transform generic ERP implementations into successful projects. On top of that we did a number of role plays around sensitive subjects - always a successful educational part with a high fun level. 😉

Remarkable observation: the need to increase our courage was the most mentioned take-away from this workshop. Courage to ask better, more probing questions to challenge the customers’ management. But also the courage to stick to the chosen methodology and implementation plans - even under high pressure.

The second day included a workshop on the major changes in a Dynamics 365 partner practice. With suggestions and ideas on how to transform as a company, as a department and especially as an individual professional.

COSMO Austria used this event for a get together with their team after a long period of working from home offices. So that was also a perfect opportunity to meet with the many newly hired colleagues in this fast growing company. In the evening we had a dinner party in the highest building of Vienna with breathtaking views over the city.

This is what COSMO Austria’s general manager Andreas Pöttler said about my contribution:

„A big thx for the "Dutch magician" on our stage. We thank you Guus for your very valuable inputs for our next chapter to become the most human centric digitalization partner for our customers in Austria.”

I want to thank Hans-Peter Gasser, Andreas Pöttler, Michaela Grimm and Wolfgang Theiner for having me. And I wish you and the team the ‘cojones’ to implementation these concepts and ideas to create even more happy Dynamics 365 customers.
