Thought provoking keynote at Sci-Net’s event

Last week I was keynote speaker at the customer event that the successful UK-based Microsoft Dynamics 365 partner Sci-Net organized in the Microsoft offices in Reading.

The overall theme of this event was ‘Shaping the future of business technology’ and the company created a strong agenda that attracted many customers and prospects.

The main message in my keynote was that technology is the least important part of a Digital Transformation project. And that buying the licenses is one of the easiest tasks.

In the end it all comes down to the courage, the will and the ability to change.

Keynote topics

Some of the topics we’ve discussed together were:

  • What has bad toilet paper to do with ERP decisions?
  • Why the customer is both Success and Fail factor number one?
  • Why buyers must define goals and strategy before attending demonstrations
  • What is the business impact of project failure?
  • Why simplifying business processes is a smart strategy
  • Why a strong project sponsor significantly increases success chances
  • Why a minimum project budget is more effective than a maximum budget
  • Why an implementation can be compared to a Formula 1 pit stop
  • And why customisation is like peeing your pants

Together we collected new insights, had good discussions and luckily also had some fun. 😊

This is what commercial director Kye Souter said about my session:

“Guus delivered an outstanding session on achieving project success. His presentation was clear, engaging and full of energy. Striking the perfect balance between professional insight and relatable, real-world experience. Guus has a natural ability to connect with people and his delivery style kept the audience genuinely engaged from start to finish.

The content itself was spot-on. The right message. Delivered in the right way. And at the right level. He brought real business value to the discussion by linking project success factors directly to tangible outcomes. Focusing on the alignment of people, process and technology.

The feedback was extremely positive, with many attendees commenting on how relevant, practical and thought-provoking the session was.”

I want to congratulate Sci-Net with this successful event. And I wish Kye and the whole team success with the event follow-up.

Question to you: what do you do to educate and inspire your current and future customers?
